Very long story behind this but I need help. I have a 2005 Shearwater z2400 with the Verado 275 on it, boat was stripped, Parts sold while at a shop, it has now been Recovered and has been at a new shop for two years being rebuilt (this is the long story part), short story is the guy is close to finishing but has some issues he’s throwing at me. He claims he never had the woodruff key for the steering wheel so he Cant instal the steering wheel. he also has many other excuses about things but he says that this particular woodruff key is from the old style steering they used on the Shearwater’s in 2005, since I have no idea of what this key looks like, would any of you know anything about it and have an idea of where to get one so I can put the steering wheel on my boat? This mechanic is very familiar with what he needs but says he can’t locate one and is even friends with the owner at Shearwater which is only a few miles from us here in Clermont Fl and he doesn’t have any. I just want the boat back together. I bought my dream boat 5 years ago, it’s been in shops all but 3 months, and Bob the owner of Shearwater wouldn’t give me the time of day when I was trying to source parts for the build, his employees tried to help me but he shewed them back to their areas and walked away, so any help is appreciated from you guys.

This is not really a verado question , but more of a Shearwater question, can you contact them directly?

Worst case probably Need a new steering rack and steering wheel.

05 should have merc steering,
I'm not aware of any aftermarket system's in 05
2 possibilities
I'd order both, any merc dealer can get the parts
